The Habs

the montreal Canadiens are perhaps the most talented team is the NHL. They are faster and more graceful than any other playoff team. Yet they still struggle against teams they are much better than (Bruins, Flyers a combined 16-0 against them in the regular season). This brings me to believe the Habs lack heart. Players such as Kovalev, Higgins and Plekanec have not steped their games up, they arent playing bad just not what i expect in the playoffs. These Younger players like the Kostysyns and Lapierre have worked their buts off while Higgins misses open nets and Michael Ryser sits on the bench. This lack of heart among the Assistant captains (Kovalev, Higgins, and Markov not Koivu as Koivu is all heart) is what IMO the reason we are not winning.

The next issue is Goaltending. Carey Price is amazing. He is the future of the Habs and maybe the best goalie prospect of all time. These playoffs he has not been consistant, he was amazing in 4 games against the bruins and he was less than stellar the other 3. Last night he was absolutely disgusting. That shorthanded goal was dispicable and even the other two were weak. We really need for him to show up tommorow night because when he is on his game we win plain and simple. I for one think it would be a shame if Halak started, not be cause Price has sucked, but because Price needs his confidence up and he is the reason we have made it this far to doubt him now is exactly what he doesnt need it could ruin him. See. Raycroft for the leafs (amazing now he sucks). We need to Start Carey and give him some defense and get the early lead which is key.

By the way next year gives me the shivers especially if we could lure a sniper to replace Ryder that could score 30 goals a season.

Go Habs, in no time they will have me singing OLE OLE and P.S if we make it o the finals me and my buds are driving up to Montreal to party and watch the games (In a bar because i would have to sell my kidneys to get tickets) and hopefully we could join in the rioting when they win.

Your post was well thought out except for the Price bit. How does that trade involving Huet look now?

Also, regular season against the Flyers was only 4 games, not 8.

While Price may have had a great rookie season, labeling him as the best prospect of all time? Just off the top of my head Pelle Lindbergh was a far superior prospect.

Anyhow, my thoughts on him. I never like to use the word choke and I won't here. He definitely has lost his confidence. I would have made the move in game 3 also, in fact we were disscussing it during intermission. I don't know anything about his personality or how will handle it. But I definitely start him in Game 4, Halak is not the Habs answer. (Besides, Richards is likely to whack him again)

I'm taking the comment about the rioting with a bit of sarcasm, yes? The fans up there have embarrassed themselves enough already, with the fires, Booing our anthem and Briere. The beer on Richards. My God if that took place here in Philly It would have been all over CNN.

But hey you've got 2 games to play before you hit the greens. Enjoy them.

I dont think i agree with ya on your comment on how your much better then the flyers , but i will agree and say the habs dont have any hart .(lol). They do have a very nice sqaud but could use a couple of good players with some grit and they should be fine . I really love Carrey price , i think he is awsome and will be for many years , hes only 20 right, hes great at floping to draw calls from the ref. whitch is always good. But let me ask you something , is his catching hand bothering him because he had a solid glove hand all year and now in the playoffs its looking a little suspect. But like i said you only need a few more peices and then your solid gold for years to come , i have alot of respect for the habs and am glad to see they are finnaly comming around and making alot of noise , Sorry bro but GO FLYERS>>>>>>>JUST WIN BABY

Yes it is an old lesson that so many GM;s never seem to get. Ths habs need more grit and better shut down D. Price is not ready yet. Good play off teams can hang on to one goal leads. However, you are also overating the habs as well I think. You could argue they have as much balance as anyone in the East but then there are several teams out West that are better.  I am hoping that management take this for the lessons they can learn. They may still pull of a defeat against Philly but that will be the end of the road for this year. To win in the playoffs you usually have to knock down your first couple of series with soime ease. Look at what Detroit, Dallas and Pittsburgh are doing.

Typical frenchie collapse.  Just like in 2004 against the Bolts.  Montreal's not going to advance...again.

The Habs

Okay i goofed they were 12 and 0 against these teams in the season.

#1 they are a FAR better team than the Flyers. They are faster, Tougher (When they want to be i mean Kostopolous, Begin, Latendress, and Lapierre not to mention the Kostysyns. They have dominated the series, the last two games they have outshot the flyers 2 to 1 and if it wasnt for the posts montreal would be up 3-0.

#2 U fyler fans should be thankful that the refs gave that stupid two many men on the ice penalty that killed all momentum. That was way to close to call in the regular season the refs shouldnt have made that call in the playoffs.

#3 Downie tripped carey price , Price did not flop. And if he pulls something like that again there is going to be a fight and lets see how that Avery Clone does in a fight, Lapierre will kill him. He is just a goon that cant fight ala Avery.

Tonight is going to be a shutout for price, it will be 3-0 with Kovalev, A. Kostysyn and Markov scoring the goals.

Markov better step his game up or Montreal isnt going to be able to beat pittsburg next round because when the time comes, Montreal will just purely outclass the less supierior Flyers.

And not all Habs fans are Frenchies as you call him, i know being an Italian from Southern Ontario, most of the Italians around here are Hab fans.

And all you Philly fans complaining about rioting, you boo'd santa claus. You have no right to critique other fans.

Oh and i think Price's Glove hand does hurt from when that goon Umberger slashed his arm to get that goal in game two.

And that reminds me when there is people around the net and the puck is in Price's glove why does the ref not blow the whistle they jst arent blowing it and i think it is getting to price

I like the way you think Mancini. The habs just have to play their game and they should be able to square it up. The thing I fear most is Price. I would feel more secure with Halak in goal. Even in the interview, Price seemed very nervous.  But the habs have to skate full speed and make sure they play well in their own zone. Be patient and take the chances that are given them. The habs are more skillful than the flyers and the habs will probably get more power play ops. But we cannot be loose in our own end. I am pumped for this and feel very worried, but that is what makes for good hockey. The habs showed in game seven what they can do when there backs are up against the wall, well tonight theire backs are against the wall. But the Flyers have more scorring skill than Boston.

Me too man i cant wait for 7 if they lose tonight i will lose almost all hope. So we need to win this one tonight.

Also does anyone know where i can get some paint that will wash off my car so i can decorate it with the CH on the hood and windows.  Im wondering if just regular Water based paint will work.

The Habs should be happy the refs gave them a goal and called a crap penalty on Richards in game 1.  Not to mention the Hatcher boarding that was in no way a 5 minute major that completely shifted momentum and gave the Habs 2 goals.  It should have been a minor, penalty would've been killed momentum stays with the Flyers and game over with a shutout 3-0 for Biron.  And yes, both goals were scored with under 3 minutes into the major, so the 2 minute minor that should have been called would've been killed.  And don't give me this hitting the post bull like that's bad luck.  It means they missed their shots.  They didn't aim for the post, they aimed for the net, so they missed their target.  When a ball rims out in basketball is that bad luck?  In baseball if the ball goes 2 inches foul from being a home run is that bad luck?  No it means he didn't hit it fair, and it's a strike next pitch.  If the Flyers lose by a goal tonight and hit 7 posts during the game I will not come in and say that's bad luck we hit a few posts and should have won, it's as simple as they missed their shot.  Whether it hits the post or goes a quarter of an inch wide of the post it's still a miss.  Just because it makes a noise and grabs peoples attention does not make it bad luck.  And to say you shouldn't call something that close in the playoffs, but not say anything about the Richards shoulder with a minute left in the game?????  A minute left in the game and replay shows it's not a penalty but that's fair?  But then the replay that shows to many men shouldn't be called because it's a playoff game and killed their momentum?  Laughable, you're a hypocrite, you're pure homer.  I'm a homer to, everyone should be for their team, but you're just wrong and nothing you say has any merit what-so-ever.
